Today my 2023 Jeep Compass freaked out. Good thing I'm safe because this happened on a red light. Once the green light it, my car wouldn't move forward even though I already tried accelerating. Shifter wouldn't budge, and the "D" just kept flashing… Turned my hazard on to add some cones on the floor (I knew this will come handy) turned the car off, restarted it, and then it finally moved. What's the problem?
I'm scared this will happen again... a flashing D

Has this happened only once or multiple times? If it happened once and never again it could be a glitch, but I would still be cautions in the following period. I want to say a solenoid, but it will continue happening constantly, or at least in certain conditions. Technically, your compass should still be under warranty, so I'd have the dealer try to figure things out.
flashing D from my understanding usually means it lost communication or didn't fully engage gear I think, who knows, could be software related or even a bad shift linkage sensor, you just keep an eye on it and definitely mention it to the dealer if it happens again
